Synergistic Effects of Essential Oils and Antibiotics Against Some Bacterial Strains

The emergence of antibiotics resistances become an alarming situation due to the resurgence cases. Scientific community explore therapeutics alternatives, including essentials oils and their combination with antibiotics. designed study aimed evaluate combined effects from Drypetes Gosswelleri, Echinops giganteus, Melaleuca leucadendron against strains implicated in infectious deseases. antibacterial effect (Ciprofloxacine Ceftriaxone) was carried out Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pnemoneae, Salmonella enteritidis, Staphylococcus aureus Bacillus cereus using microdilution method. synergistic were studied by isobologram method conclude on interaction type. results revealed that essential active all tested bacteria. Gosswelleri EO showed strongest activity MICs ranging 1.46 μg/mL 11.71 µg/mL, followed giganteus oil 2.92 µg/mL 23.43 had lowest 5.88µg/mL 750µg/mL. combinations realized between EOs two use type agains enteritidis aureus. obtained are lower than those individually. isobolograms plotted inform about a made EOs, Ciprofloxacin Ceftriaxone S. strains. Based obtained, antibiotocs, represent interesting therapeutic alternative.
